Let’s start by clearly stating my bias. Without a doubt, I believe that Cory Doctorow is the finest near science fiction and futurist writer that I have read. He writes science fiction and non-fiction content, and I have enjoyed all of it. There are still a few items of his that I have yet to read.
I’ll even go so far as to say that he is the finest near future (possible future) author. That is high praise, and I hope it is not just because I have an over-valued opinion of the extent of my own reading. Honestly, I am sure I have not read all the content by all the authors that write about futurism. Then again, I don’t think anyone can say they have. So, I will stand by my assertion that he is simply the best.
My highest praise is that I haven’t read anything of his that I haven’t enjoyed, learned from, or both. Most both, in all honestly. Even his fiction is a learning process for me. I will continue to be a fan, and I hope I can draw others to his works.

The Little Brother series was my introduction to Cory Doctorow’s books. WOW! What a stroke of luck to start at such a great place. In fact, when I started reading, Little Brother was not a series, but just a single book. I think this is a great starting point for anyone interesting in reading a great story. Aside from a great story, I think it is also an awesome introduction to Cory Doctorow’s novels. I highly recommend them.
The challenge for me with Cory Doctorow’s stories is that I love the characters. I want more. I started with the Little Brother series, and I waited for more. I didn’t think it got any better. Then, Cory Doctorow started the Martin Hensch series. I was a little disappointed. UNTIL I READ THE FIRST! WOW! I love this character too. I want more! Dang! He’s got me hooked. LOL!
I’ve read some of these, and others are on my to-read list. I’ve not been disappointed yet. I read a lot, and that is saying something that I’ve not been disappointed.
Cory Doctorow has written a number of non-fiction works, and I have learned from all of them. They are well-worth consideration as additions to your library and your overall knowledge.
These are works where Cory Doctorow is a contributor or part of an edited collection.
